Formerly called Applied AI Systems, Inc., AAI is celebrating 25 years in business as a research and development company specializing in intelligent mobile robots and their applications. We develop and market intelligent mobile robots to universities, government, and research institutions around the world. The wide range of products, from small 2-wheeled robots to rugged outdoor robots, provides platforms for academic and real-world research. We also market and support mobile robots from K-Team SA, Neuronics AG, and BlueBotics SA.

We also organize Evolutionary Robotics (ER) Symposia where leading researchers from around the world present their latest findings and discuss hot topics in the field.

  • e-puck robot, developed by Ecole Polytechnique Fèdèrale de Lausanne (EPFL) in Lausanne, Switzerland is manufactured in Japan for AAI to ensure high quality production and stable supply .
  • Ground Sensors option for e-puck is now available. Other options are being worked on .
  • Since mid-2005, our Intelligent Camera System is installed on 10 cameras in Japan to monitor highways and alert personnel of dangerous situations such as rocks falling onto the highway or items falling from vehicles onto the traveled road.
  • Intelligent Camera System installed on 2 cameras to monitor a riverbank for illegal garbage dumping in 2005.
  • For the first time, researchers and developers have relatively seamless integration of a robotic arm on-board a mobile platform for a wide range of experiments and application development. The combination intelligent robot/arm platform is offered as a product.
  • A 3rd and 4th mobile platform has been delivered to a major Japanese car manufacturer's research center in the US.
